Sassy kitty needs a new home

About Tiger Agate

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Cat
  • General Color: Brown (Mostly)
  • Color: Tabby
  • Declawed: No
  • Housetrained: Yes

This beautiful cat was fostered by a Cats Cradle volunteer when she was a tiny kitten (born June 2010), then adopted by a local family when she was 3 months old.  She led a sheltered life with no other animal friends and just the mother and daughter who adopted her for the next 3 years.

Recently the family called us to let us know that because of (human) health issues, they no longer could provide a good home for her.  The volunteer who fostered her agreed to take her back and try to find her another good home.

Since she hasn't been around other cats or many people since she was tiny, it has been a challenging transition for Tiger Agate.  She is very interested in our other family cats, but doesn't have good cat manners, so only the most calm male of our family cats was comfortable being around her, but he is now her buddy and playmate!  She is very loving to people, once she gets to know and trust the new person, but the family who adopts her needs to be prepared to be very patient and calm for month or two and show their "cat skills" to bring out the best in her.

In the 8 months she has been back in her foster home she has blossomed!  She now loves to be stroked and have her head and chin scratched thoroughly and she will sniff fingers and give them a tiny lick/kitty kiss before she ducks her head for a cheek rub.  She likes to explore the house and does it boldly, but is still a bit cautious about being approached by people unless she is in a spot where she feels safe and comfortable.

We would prefer to adopt her to a quiet home and to patient people who are knowledgeable about cats and their quirks.  Please call Georgetta at 805-647-7173 or email her at editor@CatsCradleRescue  if you are interested in finding out more about this sweet and sassy girl.

Good with Cats

Cats Cradle Rescue animals are spayed or neutered and have received at least one vaccination before they are placed up for adoption; however, kittens receive two vaccinations.  Each animal lives in a foster home as part of the family.

Cats Cradle Rescue requires an adoption application and contract with each animal.  Our adoption fee covers Feline Leukemia and Feline Immuno Virus testing, first year's shots, spay/neuter and microchip.  We also send you home with a collar, CCR tag and starter food.
